Of course columns expire because of damage and fire , but I found it hard to understand ( I guess I have to re-read then) how perimeter columns (designed for transverse forces) could initiate a collapse of the core designed to hold the load. The only way why perimeter columns can bend is if the core fails first. In the movies you see that the major bending only takes place during the collapse(=tilt collapse) of the upper section. Photos with some time logos on it are nice but I prefer proper videos

Of course, and I'm not arguing for the validity of anything that NIST say at all, just providing mehmeti an arena within which to prove whether the source images are faked or not.

I do not think they are faked in any way.

Why this burnt area under the square blackish area moved dawnward in the picture of NIST? Normally, there is no reason. Even if NIST modified it, they should not add such increase of burnt area.

According to Zafar's picture, the smoke was removed, but the burnt area increased downward. But looking a little bit more precisely, this burnt area replaced the smoke getting out from the west face fire near the square black area. Why?

My guess is that they made a software treatment to soften of sharpen the picture. And the software changed the smoke getting out from the fire into burnt area! That proves definitely that they modified that picture.

"""I""" modified the picture. Compare the original to my auto-levelled copy, as I said.
