Wow. Thanks. I have never seen that before. I wonder what time it aired on TV?

I don't know. May be Xenomorph can answer that. I think it is an important piece of video but in a shaking bad resolution. Nevertheless, it shows the profile of what's happening on the south side.
Even the WB west view is initially in a small PnP view. It's a pitty but there is no really usable view.

Do you have the NY1 views from the south? I should have it anywhere.

You have a "NE view" of the collapses I never saw before. Do you have it in a good resolution? It could help to define the tilt angles and timing of the collapse of the east side. The known NBC east view is almost completely obscured by smoke. I think your NE view is much better to see e.g. the start of the fireballs.

No I guess not. I am very interested, of course.

The NE BBC shot? No, I only have 320x240 resolution. Same for the CameraPlanet NE shot. The initiation isn't visible in either video.

Did a quick process of the WNBC PIP clip...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWq00faBLrE

Shows yet another part of the cap disintegration...watch the fire near the south west corner...as the cap tilts, it *splits* into two halves which go in separate directions. Interesting. Suggest discussion in an appropriate thread...don't want to derail this one.

Image

On second thoughts. wow. Will upload another GIF that isn't autolevelled (looks clearer tbh)

The entire south side of the cap splits from bottom, upwards, along a line through the split fire, resulting in a deformation of the west face roofline.

Can you hear me Major_Tom ?

I imagine we can make all sorts of conclusions from that little nugget.

Implications/confirmations (could be wrong) ...

a) the south wall is still fairly intact. The right hand fire doesn't drop nearly as fast as the left.
b) the floors on the south side are stripped from the perimeter very early. (or the left hand chunk wouldn't be able to separate.
c) the core is continuing to tilt independantly from the south perimeter.
d) the cap is clearly non-rigid. concave deformation stretching nearly to the antenna.

Will try and clean it up some more.

Great job femr2. I have to ask about the "WNBC" part of what you said. Why do you say it was WNBC?

This is the NY1 WTC2 collapse - but it's a blow up of poor quality.

There are a few stills in the NIST report.
They have a better quality version

Oh, NIST said it was WNBC. So it must be, then.

LOL

Thanks for the images there. Which report were they in - page #, too, if you don't mind me asking?
